The Institute specializes in formulating strategic recommendations and directions for the development of crucial public policies, providing substantive support to Polish and European policymakers in the realm of cybersecurity. Reports and analyses prepared by think tank experts are independent and apolitical, and their conclusions are an important source of information also for the private sector and civil society.

POLICY BRIEF „TWILIGHT OF DIGITAL NEUTRALITY”

International technology corporations’ provision of digital technologies to Ukraine has contributed to increased cybersecurity, but at the same time ended an era of their neutrality. The report offers an in-depth analysis of the forms of corporate support and identifies the risks posed by their involvement. Kosciuszko Institute experts have also included recommendations for the future. The project partner is ComCERT and the European Cybersecurity Forum – CYBERSEC.

REPORT – RESILIENCE TO DISINFORMATION

The Civic Resilience Initiative, Detector Media and the Kosciuszko Institute have made a joint effort to identify the components of resilience to Russian disinformation in Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine in relation to the ongoing armed conflict. The publication includes best practices for combating disinformation based on a review of the main narratives and messages targeting the countries of the Lublin Triangle.

THE REPORT “A COUNTRY’S SYSTEMIC RESILIENCE IN THE DIGITAL ERA”

It is an expert analysis of the existing digital technologies usage with recommendations on application them to enhance resilience in the seven core areas designated by NATO. The study’s partners are Microsoft and the European Cybersecurity Forum – CYBERSEC while the Government Security Center became a patron of the publication.

REPORT: “CYBERSECURITY COOPERATION BETWEEN POLAND AND THE UNITED KINGDOM”

The paper refers to the new UK National Cyber Strategy, published in 2022. It features information on the main directions of cooperation in technology and in the digital space, both civilian and military. The authors also emphasize the need to build a resilient cyber sector, which would contribute to closer economic and political relations between Poland and the UK by expanding business relations.

SUMMARY CYBERSEC FORUM/EXPO 2022

As a result, the report presents the highlights and messages that reverberated during the 16th edition of the event, which was held in Katowice under the banner of United in Cyberpower. The conference was held under five thematic paths: STATE, DEFENSE, BUSINESS, FUTURE and a special path dedicated to the European Union. It was organized by the Kosciuszko Institute and the Cyber Made In Poland Cluster.

REPORT: THREE SEAS UNITED IN CYBER POWER

The subject matter of the publication focuses on the direction of security-oriented cooperation and the future of digitization in the 3Seas region. Additionally, analysts evaluated the impact of recent crises on regional development. Partners for this issue include Google and BGK.

IS #POLEXIT AN INFORMATION OPERATION?

Under the Globsec grant “Understanding and Countering Authoritarian Interference,” was written an article that examined news operations regarding #polexit. Experts attempted to define the origins and popularity of the term in the news space and examined the sources of these reports.

GUIDEBOOK “WITH A SHIELD – HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM DISINFORMATION”

Prepared by Kosciuszko Institute experts, the handbook is a response to the need for media education of the younger generation. The primary mission of the project is to increase the awareness of students and teachers in the area of disinformation, as well as to equip them with the tools to effectively counter it. The manual was developed in cooperation with the US Embassy in Poland and partners – the Demagog Association and the School with Class Foundation. It has also received the patronage of Minister Janusz Cieszynski. The media patrons are Computer World and GeekWeek.
